Internationaler Adalbert-Preis
für Frieden, Freiheit und Zusammenarbeit in Europa

Dieser Preis wird jeweils an eine Persönlichkeit verliehen, die sich in hervorragender Weise um ein dauerhaftes Zusammenwachsen ganz Europas und um die Integration der Mittel- und Osteuropäischen Völker in die Europäische Union verdient gemacht hat. Namenspatron ist der heilige Adalbert (956-997), der als Missionsbischof auf den Territorien der heutigen Republiken Tschechien, Polen, Ungarn und Slowakei nachhaltig gewirkt hat.

Die Auswahl des jeweiligen Preisträgers obliegt einem aus je drei Repräsentanten der vier Adalbert-Länder zusammengesetzten Komitee. Abwechselnd in einem dieser Länder werden in öffentlicher Zeremonie eine Verleihungsurkunde in lateinischer Sprache, die Goldmedaille mit dem Adalbert-Siegel und einer Widmungs-Inschrift sowie die Dotation von 10.000 € überreicht und die Preisträger mit einer Laudatio geehrt.
